Stop, Drop, and Go Begins at Prairie Sunrise
This month, Prairie Sunrise School has started its new Stop, Drop, and Go plan with the intention of making it safer for students to come and go from school each day. After a few days of learning, the students and families of the community have adjusted well to this new routine.
Drop off at Prairie Sunrise begins at 8:25 a.m. each morning. Families arriving by car are to pull up to the front of the school on Ryerson Avenue. A staff member will assist children with exiting the vehicles. Drivers are encouraged to proceed straight down the street after drop off, rather than doing a U-turn on Ryerson Avenue. This same routine is also in place at the end of the day as families come to pick up their children at 3:20 p.m.
Since beginning this new way of doing things, staff, students, and families have noticed an improvement in efficiency and safety during these busy times at the beginning and end of each day.
