Visit with Elder Allison Cox

On April 18 and 29, Elder Allison Cox once again visited Ecole Crane. She met with the students from the classes of Mme Birouk, Mme Lavoie, Mme Sutherland-Brown, Mme Halket, Mme Michaud et Mme Vielfaure. The students were fully engaged as Elder Allison shared knowledge about her Indigenous culture. Elder Allison explained about her Thunderbird drum and performed songs with her drum. She explained the necessity of clean water in order to have a healthy earth and our role in keeping our water clean.  Elder Allison taught the children about our school’s bundle which holds the four medicines. At the end of each session, students were eager to ask questions that Elder Allison happily answered. 

It has been a very enlightening experience for our students to meet and interact with this gentle and wise knowledge keeper!
