Laidlaw students love Forest School

Laidlaw School has devoted itself to getting our students outdoors, exploring nature, and environmental inquiry. The school is walking distance to Assiniboine Forest and a neighborhood park on Park Avenue (affectionately known as "Park Park"). These spaces help students dive into environmental inquiry and purposeful play opportunities. Laidlaw's Forest School experiences are carved out of an afternoon with different classes learning and playing outdoors on different days. Learning begins with the Momenta Organization and with the help of a grant, a number of Laidlaw teachers were involved in explicit professional development toward becoming Forest School trained.
