EVA Students Delight at Fort Whyte Alive
A group of 7 and 8 students have the opportunity to volunteer and participate in horticulture, carpentry, and culinary arts programming through the FortWhyte Farms Academic and Skills Building Program. Our students had their first visit last week and helped the farm by harvesting their tomatoes. We were amazed by the variety and size of tomatoes. We also did some taste testing as we picked. Students also toured the farm and saw the rabbits, bison and we petted the pigs. Did you know that the farm also has chickens and bees, and sells its produce? We are looking forward to our next visits, being on the land and learning new skills.
