Oakenwald School offers kindergarten through grade 6 English programming using the Manitoba provincial curriculum.  Students receive formal instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, French, music, physical education, health and art. Block scheduling for language arts and mathematics allows for cross grade literacy and numeracy learning groups. Our classroom teachers are supported by two resource teachers and a guidance counsellor, ensuring that all students receive appropriate programming.

We also provide many extracurricular opportunities before school, at lunch, and after school that support academic programming. Teachers and education assistants volunteer at these times to allow students the opportunity to socialize, be active and learn outside of the classroom. Check out the links on the left for more information on arts education (including the Orff music approach), physical education, and student activities such as our cross-grade family groups.
