Celebrating Our School Patrol Team: Keeping Our Students Safe Every Day

At our school, safety is a top priority—and thanks to our incredible team of 37 dedicated student patrols, we’re able to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. These students show up every day, rain or shine and soon to be snow, to help guide their peers safely across crosswalks and through busy school zones. Their commitment and leadership are truly commendable.
As a token of appreciation for their hard work, our patrol team recently enjoyed an exciting outing to a University of Manitoba Bisons men's hockey game against the University of Calgary. For many of our students, it was their first live hockey experience, and the energy and excitement in the arena made it an afternoon to remember!
We also want to take this opportunity to remind our community members to stay vigilant as the days grow shorter and visibility decreases. Please be mindful of the school zone driving and parking rules:
  • Watch for our school patrols, especially in poor weather conditions. Even with their safety vests, they can be difficult to see.
  • Do not park near crosswalks—this blocks the view for both drivers and patrols, making it harder to ensure safe crossings.
  • Observe the 30 km/h speed limit in school zones at all times.
  • Do not enter the crosswalk when the lights are flashing—this indicates that students are crossing.
  • Respect the bus loop restrictions—it is closed to cars during bus drop-off and pick-up times to ensure student safety.
Please do your part in helping keep our students safe. Whether you're walking, driving, or biking near the school, your attention and care make a big difference.
Let’s continue working together to keep our school community safe. Thank you again to our amazing patrol team—you make a difference every single day!
