The Magic of Pinwheels

On Monday June 21st, students arriving at school were greeted by colourful pinwheels placed around the front of school.  Organized by LM's Parent Advisory Council, these colourful toys brought a feeling of positivity and joy to school staff and their students, some of whom haven't been at school for most of the spring.

The pinwheel is a universal symbol for childhood.  In many hospitals, pinwheels have been placed outside to represent recovered COVID-19  patients.  This week at LM the pinwheel represents childhood, hope, and recovery. It reminds us that we all have the power to bring health, hope, and recovery to our communities, cities, nations, and the world. The power for RECOVERY is catalyzed by the person who has the COURAGE to GROW and CHANGE in the present, amidst these uncertain, exhausting, and often heartbreaking times because they HOPE for a future of brighter days ahead.  Recovery starts with our children.
