5/6 Wyant’s Class Brings Books to Life with Creative Floats

This month, the students in Mrs. Wyant’s Grade 5/6 class turned their favorite books into imaginative floats that captured the heart of each story. Every float featured a detailed diorama showcasing the book’s setting, key characters, and a persuasive pitch on why others should read it.
The creativity was inspiring! Here are some of the examples of book titles students represented.
  • Apartment 713  - this float transported viewers into a mysterious apartment full of secrets and history.
  • The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street – A charming depiction of a lively Harlem brownstone and the family that calls it home.
  • Auggie and Me – A heartfelt extension of Wonder, reminding us of the power of kindness and empathy.
  • The Poisoned King – A thrilling tale of intrigue and danger, brought to life with dramatic scenes in the diorama.
These floats didn’t just display artistic talent—they sparked conversations about why reading matters and how stories can shape our imaginations. If you’re looking for your next great read, start with one of these student favorites!
