Shaftesbury Dramatic Arts Program


The Dramatic Arts Program at Shaftesbury spans over all four years of enrollment (Dramatic Arts 10S/20S/30S/40S).  Classes take place over one semester per year. (1 Credit)  Students explore stagecraft recursively over their high school career with a focus on the development of individual acting and communal theatre-making skills.

Shaftesbury Choral Program


The Choral Program at Shaftesbury consists of two available classes:  Concert Choir (10S/20S/30S/40S) and Vocal Jazz (20S/30S/40S).  Both take place outside of the regular timetable and span the whole year.  Concert Choir is open to all students, and Vocal Jazz is an auditioned ensemble for students in grades 10-12.  Auditions for Vocal Jazz take place in June every year. (1 Credit)

Shaftesbury Theatre Production Program  


The Theatre Production Class (10S/20S/30S/40S) takes place over the course of the school year and its goal is to produce a full-scale theatrical production.  The class takes the form of an apprenticeship in which students learn either onstage or backstage theatre craft according to their area of personal interest. Theatre Production classes span over all four years of enrollment and take place outside of the timetable.  (1 Credit)
