Students in Pembina Trails are encouraged to attend their “neighbourhood school” – a school within their catchment area. To determine your neighbourhood school, please use our School Locator link. If you live outside of the Westgrove School catchment area and would like to register your child at our school, you may submit a Schools of Choice request.

For registrations throughout the school year, please contact the office directly and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Our registration form is available in the Related Links for you to download. Appointments to complete the registration process can be made by contacting the school office.

Information regarding transportation is available by contacting the Pembina Trails School Division.

Kindergarten Registration Information:

If your child is five years old on or before December 31, they are eligible to register for kindergarten for the following school year. Our Kindergarten Information Evening is held in February of each year. Please plan to attend if you would like to learn more about the kindergarten program and our school. Watch for advertising about our information evening on our website, community signage or in your local newspaper.

Registration packages will be available at school and information on school registration procedures will be shared at the school’s information evening. The following documentation is required to complete the registration process:

  • Your child's birth certificate

  • Your child's Manitoba Health information (9 digit personal identification number)

  • Name and phone number of an emergency contact

  • Parent/guardian home and work phone number

  • Proof of Address

If you are unable to attend this orientation, please call the school and inquire directly. Registration packages are available at the school and information on school registration procedures can be obtained by contacting the school secretary.

Please note: If your child has any medical needs or concerns (nut allergy, asthma, etc.) please clearly indicate the health concern on the registration form and check with one of the school secretaries to ensure the necessary medical papers are prepared before your child starts school. If medication or medical treatment is required, we may request that an authorization form be completed by your doctor.

Your child is most likely to succeed in school when you, as a parent or guardian, are informed and involved in their education. Westgrove School staff recognizes and celebrates strong working relationships with you to ensure your child's success.

Manitoba Education and Training has published a website for parents titled My Child in School. This resource clearly and concisely explains:

  • How your child is assessed
