Students experience a variety of
media and techniques to develop their own creative expression in our art
program. Through art instruction students learn to artistically communicate
their own ideas connecting them to art history, culture and society, literature,
nature, personal interests and the use of the Elements of Design.
The art program provides
opportunities for the students to work, hands-on, with different media and
techniques such as: watercolour, oil pastel, 3-D paper construction, collage,
clay and printmaking. Students are given guidance, skill development and an
opportunity to discuss and reflect on their own art, as well as a chance to
relate to art and value artistic experiences.
In late May to early June our
middle years students have a chance to have their art selected for our annual
Pembina Trails art show, Sight Unseen, held at Polo Park.
