Manitoba Beef Producers Bursary

Deadline: June
Award Amount: $500
Who can apply?

  • Must be at least 17 years of age as of January 1st
  • Must be an active Manitoba beef producer or the child of an active Manitoba beef producer. Note: This can include beef producers returning to school after a period in the workforce.
  • Must use the bursary within two years.
  • Post-secondary program or trades training must be a minimum of one year in duration.

What do I have to do?

  • Completed application form;
  • A typed 600-word (maximum) essay discussing “What the beef industry means to my family, my community and Manitoba.” Also include the reasons you enjoy being involved in agriculture;
  • A copy of your transcript (either high school, or a recognized college, university or trade school);
  • Proof of enrollment in a recognized institution (current transcript, or your acceptance letter, or a letter of intent indicating your intended institution and field of study);
  • A list of community involvement (e.g. 4-H, community clubs, volunteer work, etc.); and,
  • The names of three references, including their addresses and telephone numbers.

The Keith Cooper Scholarship 

Deadline: June Award Amount: A total of $10,000 Who can apply?

  • Available to young people who have been cared for by any of the four Manitoba Child and Family Services Authorities for more than one year
  • Recipients may reapply for the scholarship for an additional three years so that a student might complete a four-year university, technical or vocational program
  •  Applicants must be 30 years of age and under, planning to attend a recognized University, College, Technical or Vocational school and be able to meet the institutions entry requirements.

What will I have to do?

  • Submit completed application
  • Copy of their transcript
  • Three reference letters

MC College Creative Scholarship

Deadline: June

Award Amount: $1,000 towards tuition

Who can apply?

  • Displays creative ability in the areas of art, music, photography or other avenue.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for the vocation of fashion, beauty and/or wellness.
  • Demonstrate an excellent attendance record.
  • Demonstrate community involvement through volunteer work or extra-curricular activities.
  • Be a full-time Grade 12 student in British Columbia, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan who will be completing their High School Diploma in 2020.

What will I have to do?

Please submit the following as part of your Scholarship Application to the campus of your choice:

  • Students must be a full-time Grade 12 student who will be completing their High School Diploma to receive this Scholarship.
  • Tell us why you want to be a Beauty Professional. Talk to your Stylist or Esthetician and ask them what they love about their careers. Use Google to find out more about the Salon and Spa Industry and search for great places to work when you graduate. Find famous Stylists/Estheticians on Instagram and follow them. Present us with a summary of all you learned about our industry and why you want to join it. Use any format you like.
  • Samples of your creative work. These may include but are not limited to photographs, drawings, artwork or crafts.
  • Registration Fee of $100.

Knights of Rizal Youth Recognition Awards

Deadline: June

Award Amount: Award recipients will be publicly honoured and acknowledged for their achievements and cash awards will be given

Who can apply?

  • Overall grade average of at least 90% and no mark lower than 80%
  • Must have completed at least 5 core 40S subjects
  • Nominated by School Principal or authorized school official
  • Full or partial Filipino parentage
  • Graduating in June
  • Received award(s) for leadership or had demonstrated significant leadership involvement in the school or community.
