Special Board Meeting

The Pembina Trails Board of Trustees will be holding a special board meeting – on Teams on Tuesday, July 20th at 7:00 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, we will be following social distancing measures. Please note, that there is no longer a need to pre-register to virtually attend. Here is the live link for the July 20, 2021 meeting.

Below is the “Notice of Motion:”

WHEREAS the Division owns an approximately 25 acre parcel of un-serviced land located on Cadboro Road, which the Division acquired in 2014 in contemplation of using same for a future school site for the subdivision in Winnipeg Manitoba known as Waverley West; and

WHEREAS it has since been determined by the parties that an approximately 21.34 acre parcel of land legally which is owned,  being subdivided and serviced by Southeast Lands Corp would be more  suitable for the construction of the K-8 School, High School, related facilities and amenities, possible daycare and vocational building/wing and recreational facilities being contemplated by the parties to service the Waverley West community; and

THAT The Province has elected to assume the development of said proposed new school development, including the acquisition of the new school lands from Southeast Lands Corp;

BE IT RESOLVED

THAT pursuant to the direction of the Minister of Education, the Board, subject to the approval of the Education Funding Branch, approve the agreement to convey the 25-acre parcel of un-serviced land, known as the “Cadboro Road” land and legally described as:

  • Lot 37 and the WLY 207 FEET of LOT 38 Plan 1631 WLTO in RL 4 to 7 Parish of St Vital; and
  • Lot 36 Plan 1631 WLTO in OTM Lots 4, 5, 6, and 7 Parish of St. Vital;


to Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Central Services (the “Province) and further;

THAT THE BOARD authorize the Secretary-Treasurer to negotiate and finalize the conclusion of the conveyance agreement and execute a transfer of title as directed in writing by the Province to do so.

If your concern is not resolved, please connect with your school’s superintendent. Each of our assistant superintendents and superintendent is responsible for a network of schools. They support our staff and can be contacted if you have questions that have not been answered.
