AHS Indigenous Veterans Day Ceremony

November 8th is Indigenous Veteran's Day we here at the Pembina Trails Alternative High School held a ceremony to remember and acknowledge all our indigenous veterans who have served throughout history and are currently serving today.

Back in 1994 Manitoba became the first province to recognize National Indigenous Veterans Day. Since then, the day has been acknowledged across the country, with commemorations taking place to honour the more than 12,000 Indigenous people who served in the Frist World War, Second World War and Korean War.

We thank you all for your service and for fighting for our country in a time when our country didn't recognize you as citizens.
