Identity: An Important Topic in 1/2 Weedon

All year long classrooms at Prairie Sunrise School, formerly Ryerson School, have been hard astory%203.PNGt work on our divisional What’s in a Name project.

Renee Weedon, a 1/2 teacher, has developed a unit of investigations and learning called Every Name Has a Story.  Her 1/2 students have had meaningful conversations surrounding given names, culture, language, and family. Students' names and their origins or stories are proudly hung on the walls.

Up next for the 1/2s: students have begun the practice of mixing shades of paint to create colours and descriptive words that are uniquely “theirs.”
