Agriculture in the 3/4 classroom

Laidlaw is fortunate to have Ms. Kyle join us this year in the 3/4 class configuration. She comes to us with her experience and love of gardening! Ms. Kyle has been part of the Agriculture in the Classroom program for a few years now and has brought this amazing program to us here at Laidlaw.

The students have been learning about crops, agriculture, seeds, life cycles and getting their own hands dirty planting seeds just like farmers!

Agriculture in the Classroom-Manitoba (AITC-M) envisions a future where:

  • Every student knows where and how their food is grown
  • Every teacher has the tools to inspire tomorrow's innovators, consumers and decision-makers
  • Every Manitoban understands the issues and challenges our province's largest industry faces in its efforts to nourish the world safely and sustainably.
  • They are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to developing curriculum-linked programs, resources and activities for teachers and students to learn more about the importance of agriculture in Manitoba.

We look forward to all the learning and adventures our gr.3/4 students will bring to the rest of our school!
