Henry G Izatt
A Message From Henry G. Izatt
When I arrived from England in 1977, I taught Science and Mathematics at Arthur A. Leach School for a period of 3 years. In 1981, I was appointed Superintendent of Schools for Fort Garry. During my tenure, several new schools were built, the last one being a Middle School on Scurfield Drive.
The planning of the school embodied all the priorities I considered important for the education of Middle Year students. On completion, I believe the desired result was achieved. The Board of Trustees formed a committee of parents, teachers and trustees to find a name for the new school. The name chosen was Henry G. Izatt.
I could not have been more proud when the Henry G. Izatt Middle School opened it’s doors to the new students in September, 1998.
