I Love to Read Month

February is I Love to Read month and Beaverlodge school has many fun events planned to encourage and highlight our love of reading. We started the month by celebrating World Read Aloud Day. Mrs. LaSpina enjoyed visiting each class and reading some of her favourite picture books. For our book bracket this year, each class selected a book that they want to compete in an attempt to de-throne last year's winner: Scaredy Squirrel by Melanie Watt. As we continue to celebrate reading this month, we will have virtual guest readers, make our own bookmarks, guess the staff mystery readers, and highlight Canadian authors and illustrators during I Read Canadian Day. 

This year presents us with a special opportunity to spend more time at home with the people we love. Enjoy cozying up with your favourite books and reading together as we hope for warmer weather ahead.
