Boys: Grades 9 to 12

Michael Dueck: Conductor
Leanne Hiebert: Pianist
Location: Canadian Mennonite University – Conference Room, 600 Shaftesbury Blvd.
Time: Mondays, 6:30 – 9 p.m.

PTV Men have distinguished themselves internationally, and the choir provides an exceptional choral experience for young men with changed and changing voices. The young men who are invited to sing with PTV Men demonstrate a superior level of commitment to rehearsals, camps and tours as they are challenged to develop their personal vocal technique (pure vowel sounds, breath control), music reading skills and listening skills. The young men work together to produce exceptional tone colour and vibrant sound, continuing their experience in PTV Boys. They also support their "younger brothers" in the PTV Family by joining with them upon occasion to sing SATB music. Strong choral independence is mastered by each boy through singing the best in equal voice men choral literature. They explore material in unison, two, three and four parts. As well as their commitment to TB literature, they sing weekly as an SATB ensemble with Cantemus.  PTV Men participates in four PTV Concerts each year, tours annually and appears regularly as guest artists.

Michael Dueck, Conductor

Proud to hail from Kleefeld, MB, Michael Dueck makes his second home on the stage as a passionate performer and enthusiastic educator. An active Manitoba choral advocate, Michael enjoys crossing the "singing province" as a singer, conductor and clinician. He is the choral director at W.C. Miller Collegiate and Parkside School in Altona. As a vocalist, Michael has performed with outstanding Manitoba choirs including Prairie Voices, the University of Manitoba Singers and Canzona. He also represented Manitoba in the National Youth Choir of 2012. As an actor, Michael enjoys contributing to local productions including works with the Steinbach Arts Council, Crosswalk Players, Real Live Entertainment, as well as spending several seasons in principal roles with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg from 2013-2016. Other performance projects include Mint (Manitoba's favourite male vocal quartet) and Mayflowers in June (an acoustic trio based in Kleefeld). Michael is passionate about male ensemble singing and could not be happier to be included in the PTV family as conductor of the PTV Men.
