PTV Boys provides a stimulating choral experience for boys with unchanged voices who love to sing. The young men in PTV Boys demonstrate a high level of commitment to rehearsals, camps and tours as they are challenged to develop their personal vocal technique (pure vowel sounds, breath control), music reading skills and listening skills. Within a safe and caring environment, the boys develop the exquisite, unique sound that only a boy choir can produce. Strong choral independence is mastered by each boy through singing the best in children's choral literature. They sing in unison, two and more parts. The PTV choir program offers opportunity for the boys to sing SATB music with their "older brothers" in the PTV Family. The finest advantage for the PTV Boys is that they are encouraged to move to PTV Men as their voices change, thus offering a seamless transition through the voice change.
PTV Boys participate in four PTV Concerts each year, tour annually and appear regularly as guest artists.
Alisa Wiebe, Conductor
Surrounded by music from the beginning, music has always
been a part of Alisa's life. Musical collaborations have always been a
highlight, whether playing in a family string quartet, singing folk songs with
friends or touring with choirs as both a singer and a conductor. Alisa is a
choral director at Collège Garden City Collegiate and sings in professional choirs
in the city. She has enjoyed traveling the province as an adjudicator, guest
conductor and clinician for regional choirs and festivals. She is excited to
continue making music with PTV Ragazzi this year.
