Boys: Grades 2 to 4

Location: Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Ave.
Time: Thursdays, 4:45 – 5:45 p.m.

PTV Boys TC provides a challenging opportunity for boys in grades two, three and four. The young choristers experience their first steps as a choral musicians. They are introduced to the basics of vocal technique (pure vowel sounds, breath control), early music reading skills and listening skills. Children are encouraged to develop strong choral independence and skills to work as a team to achieve vocal unity. Repertoire of the highest calibre is chosen for these young choristers who sing both in unison and two-parts. By the end of grade three, choristers are eligible to continue on to the next choir within the Pembina Trails Voices program as a member of PTV Boys for grades four to eight.

PTV Boys TC participates in the Pembina Trails Voices winter and spring concerts, as well as a concert featuring the youngest PTV choirs each March with NOVA, Minnesingers and Choraliers.

Amanda Ciavarelli is a music specialist in grades Kindgarten to Grade 6 at Ecole South Pointe School in Winnipeg, Mb where she has many choir and Orff Clubs that perform regularly at assemblies, fesitval, adn community events throughout the school year. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and hols a Bachelor of Music  and Bachelor of Education. She completed her Level III Orff Certification at the University of Manitoba in July 2015 and mentored with Brenda Harvey to be an Orff Level II Instructor in July 2017. She is passionate about elementary music education because of the important role music plays in the development and growth of children; fostering musicianship, teamwork and communication while creating an opportunity for children to experience emotion and humanism through music. Amanda is excited to be conducting the PTV Boys Training Choir this year!
