Llangollen International Music Festival Competition (Wales)

  • PTV Singers were awarded third prize internationally in the Senior Children's Choir Competition.


National Choral Festival - Saskatoon, Sask.

  • Cantemus wins first prize in the Community Choirs (19 and under) Class and the Past President's Award.
  • Choraliers wins third place in the Community Choirs (12 and under) Class.
  • Chorale is named as alternate in the National Festival Competition.


CBC National Choral Competition for Amateur Choirs

  • Cantemus places third nationally in the Treble Voices (19 and under) Category.

  • PTV Singers and Cantemus wins spotlight performance spot at the National Choral Conference.

National Music Festival 2018

  • PTV Chorale places 2nd nationally in the National Music Festival 2018
  • PTV Cantemus places 2nd nationally in the National Music Festival 2018


Winnipeg Music Festival: March 2018

  • PTV Choraliers win the Lord Tweedsmuir Trophy for outstanding achievement in the 12 years and under category.
  • PTV Cantemus wins the Winnipeg Mennonite Children's Choir Alumni Golden Era Bursary for outstanding artistry in the 19 years and under category. 
  • PTV Cantemus succeeds in the Provincial Music Festival choral competition and proceeds to the National Music Festival, representing Manitoba. 
  • PTV Chorale succeeds in the Provincial Music Festival choral competition and proceeds to the National Music Festival, representing Manitoba.

Past Awards Locally:

  • Choraliers, PTV Boys, Chorale, PTV Men and Cantemus consistently receive gold ratings in all classes entered.
  • PTV Men, Chorale and Cantemus have won the Saults and Pollard Limited Shield.
  • PTV Boys have won the Lord Tweedsmuir Shield.
  • Chorale has won the John B. Somerset Trophy.
  • Choraliers have won the John B. Somerset Trophy and have been recommended for the National Margaret Wharton prize.
  • Ms. Monika Lukomska, Conductor of Chorale, was honored at the Evening of Choral Excellence by becoming the second recipient of the Michael J. Proudfoot Trophy for Choral Excellence given yearly to a conductor who most demonstrates passion for choral music, a drive to produce excellence in the choirs with which they work and a history of performance in the Winnipeg Music Festival. PTV's Mrs. Brenda Harvey was the first recipient of this award.
  • PTV Chorale was the first children's choir ever to be invited to perform as guest artist at the Evening of Choral Excellence.

  • Chorale and PTV Boys have been recommended for the National Dr. and Mrs. J.F.K. English prize, with Chorale being finalists for this prize.
  • Choraliers have been recommended for the National Margaret Wharton prize.
  • Cantemus has been recommended for and has been finalists for the National George S. Mathieson prize.
  • PTV Singers was honored to be the first Manitoba choir to receive an invitation to participate in the prestigious "Festival 500" in St. John's, Newfoundland.
  • PTV Singers, Cantemus and PTV Men were the first Manitoba choirs to receive an invitation to the exceptional Young Prague Choral Festival where PTV Men received a Gold standing and Cantemus and PTV Singers received Silver trophies.
  • ASYC Women's choir, conducted by Ruth Wiwchar, won 2nd place in the Youth Choirs (Equal Voice Category) in the internationally acclaimed Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's CBC Choral Competition.
