As we cannot run our regular events at the moment, we understand many of you may be missing that Winnipeg experience.  However with most of Winnipeg’s popular tourist attractions temporarily closing to the public, many have expanded their virtual tour options.  Below are a few ideas you can explore at your leisure. Check back as more options are added.

Canadian Museum of Human Rights 

Explore the Canadian Museum of Human Rights from home with their mobile app audio tour.  You’ll learn about exhibits and architecture through narration, images and video.  In some galleries, the voices of curators and program developers are used to explain their work. Download the app (called “A Journey of Inspiration”) to your Apple or Android mobile device from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.


Assiniboine Park Zoo Creature Feature

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is hosting live videos on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on their Facebook Page.  They feature a different animal daily.  The full Creature Feature schedule is available.  


Dalvanert Museum Virtual Tour

Built in 1895, The Dalnavert Museum is a small Victorian Mansion nestled in the heart of Winnipeg’s Downtown.  The Friends of Dalnavert Virtual Tour is accessible on a computer, mobile phone, or VR headset via mobile phone (Google cardboard headset or generic VR headset compatible).  This unique museum features a “day in the life” feel as it transports you back in time to the 19th century the second you step inside.


West End Murals Virtual Tour

The West End Biz virtual tour includes many of the same murals and the stories behind them.  If you are a fan of street art, this tour is for you.


Heritage Winnipeg

Follow the link for a Virtual Heritage Winnipeg Tour.  Many of the buildings on this Virtual tour are located in the Exchange District (often referred to as "The Chicago of the North). We hope you enjoy this exciting journey through the history of one of Canada’s great cities.

Youtube.com has countless free home instruction fitness videos of every discipline.
