We are rested and ready to welcome our 14,000 students back to class. The 2018-19 school year officially begins on September 5, 2018. Long before our doors open, there is work behind the scenes to make sure our schools and classrooms are inviting and safe learning spaces.

Our Superintendent/CEO, Ted Fransen, spent the last part of August visiting schools where principals are moving into new assignments.

“With each visit I noticed that no matter how experienced, the common theme is one of enthusiasm and high expectations for themselves and our students,” said Fransen. “Each leader was taking great pride in their new spaces; I could not help but notice a photo of Nelson Mandela, inspirational quotes and even sentimental photos and art work on the office walls. The positive energy is infectious. The school visits leave me filled with optimism for a great year. Your children are coming to school in a school division that has high expectations for all of our students, where we are committed to excellence, with great resolve to support every learner to be successful. Our students - your children - will notice our enthusiasm as we welcome them back to school. I invite the entire Pembina Trails community to rally around our common purpose, that is captured in our Board’s Three Expectations for Student Learning and the Board’s Commitment to our Learners. We are in for a great learning adventure this year.”

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and our Senior Administration we would like to wish our entire community a safe and successful school year. Please visit our online home often to stay updated on the latest stories and events in Pembina Trails.
