Are students and families allowed into schools to pick up personal items?
In following the Chief Public Health Officer’s recommendations, our school buildings are currently closed to the public. Access is limited to staff and deliveries only. A small number of daycares are still operating to support families of front-line workers.
Each school will decide when and how to clean out lockers and return belongings to students following the guidelines provided by MSBA. School administration teams are currently working on plans that respect physical distancing to keep our community members healthy and safe. Staff will share more details directly with families, once details are confirmed.

Can I get a refund for school fees such as lunch program and transportation?
We understand there are many families who would like a refund for school fees.
We have made a commitment to, whenever possible, refund fees back to families.
Our direction to schools was to aim for cheques to be in the mail this week. Delivery dates will vary depending on a number of factors including school population.
We appreciate this can be an extremely challenging economic time for some of our families. We want to thank our community for their patience
We do not have access to a laptop or tablet in our house. Can the division provide one?
We aim to be inclusive and to support our students and families while we all navigate learning from home. Our schools are currently distributing laptops and tablets in response to community needs.
What about convocation? Will there be a graduation ceremony?
We know that your final year in high school is not ending the way anyone would have imagined or wanted. Despite the current classroom learning suspensions, due to COVID-19, your journey and years of hard work deserve to be celebrated.
Each high school leadership team in Pembina Trails is currently exploring creative and safe ways to honour our graduates in June. Celebrations may vary from school to school. We have full confidence that staff will work with students and parents to find innovative and unique ways to mark this major milestone.
Unfortunately, convocation ceremonies and graduation dinners are massive public gatherings that currently do not follow the directives set out by the Chief Public Health Officer. With this in mind, we have decided to postpone official convocations until the fall. School leadership teams are busy working on confirming dates, and will follow up directly when there are more details to share.
