It was a night worth celebrating. Not only did the Oak Park Raiders secure a win, they did it on their newly rejuvenated home field. 

Special thanks to the community members, alumni, civic partners and our trustees for their tireless efforts to make Gil Bramwell Field’s renewal possible.


“We did it with passion. My son graduated in 2014 and I stayed on, as did other parents. We weren’t doing it because we wanted something for our sons, we did it for our community’s children,” shared Jane Wegner.

Wegner is part of a grassroots group who spearheaded the fundraising efforts on the field, which is owned by the City of Winnipeg.

“In one way I am relieved, as it is now all done. Another side of me thinks that this is probably one of the most important things I have done. I will never forget it.”
