• Can you eliminate information that is repeated or does not belong?
• Can you organize the information in a new way?
• Can you organize the key ideas in a logical order?
• If written or spoken, is the newly organized information in your own words?
• Can you use a graphical organizer such as a web, a chart, a timeline or a table to help you understand or explain how the information goes together?
• Can you keep your new information clear?
